On the surface, many may think my success has been easier because I’ve “always been in shape.” But, let’s back that train up… I haven’t always been this healthy. When I was younger, I distinctly remember being overweight and thinking that eating cereal would keep me “skinny.” I recall panicking any time I had an event to attend because I would hope to lose weight and look “skinny” before the day came. That included barely eating, working out in plastic suits in my living room, taking “fat burners,” and picking the hottest time of day to go for a run to “sweat out” the weight. I weighed myself several times a day (when I woke up, before I worked out, and after I worked out) to see if I dropped a few pounds.
Just writing this makes me shudder because I know there are thousands that still do this and deny that they have any kind of body image dysmorphia. Although I only did this in spurts, it still had its way of consuming me in an unhealthy manner. I had to make a change. And boy, it wasn’t easy.
I started by taking a look at the amount of time I spent working out and tightened up and shortened my workouts – no two hours in the gym or cardio two times a day. I also looked at the nutrition I was fueling my body with as well as how my own thoughts were sabotaging my efforts – there was room for improvement in all areas.
Even when I thought I had it all under control, I found myself obsessing again, thanks to the pressures of the fitness industry and the unhealthy practices that roam within it. In all honesty, it wasn’t until I got pregnant with Ella that I really got what being “healthy” was all about. And once I had Ella, I wanted to continue that practice in a convenient way. Thankfully I was introduced to Isagenix®, and this was a total game changer when it came to quality and convenience (no more packing meat in a bag while I traveled) or eating lukewarm chicken and broccoli out of Tupperware 5-6 times a day.
When it came to working out, I was comfortable in most things – I mean, I’ve pretty much tried everything – martial arts (I’m a 3rd degree black belt), yoga, bootcamp workouts, spinning, functional training, traditional weight lifting, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). I was like a Jill of all trades. I loved it all (and benefitted from it all), but I found that what works for me is sculpting and shrinking my physique with more focused work. That’s why most of my workouts consist of traditional split bodyweight lifting. When it comes to cross-training, I am a huge believer in yoga, it forces this gritty girl to slow down and let go a little (OK, a lot). So I encourage you to find the yin for whatever is your yang. Make sure whatever program you decide to follow, that you’re not putting all your eggs in one basket. Balance is key when it comes to long-term success and not burning out all together.
In a nutshell, I’ve done the legwork and figured out what works for me – both body and mind – and I want to pass that onto you. Quality counts, BIG TIME, whether it’s in the gym or fueling your body.

– TESTIMONIALS –
This challenge has helped not only my eating, but my exercise as well. My kitchen is a completely different place than it was a month ago. I now not only look what is in food, but where it came from and how it was grown. I thought that I was having healthy snacks, but what I didn’t consider, when I was eating them and what my food combinations were. I have had the opportunity to try more of the Isagenix products (the ageless essentials with product B has made my hair and nails grow like crazy!). It has also made it much easier for me to talk to people about the products because I can give testimonials about how the products are affecting my body! You can actually feel your body starting to work like it was intended. I have more energy, clearer skin, and I am sleeping better than I have in a long time.
As far as exercise, I have always enjoyed it. But with these workouts, I’ve added a lot more stuff at home. So my 5-year-old is usually watching or joining in with me. The other day out of the blue she said, “Mommy, I am so proud of you working out.” That made my year! That encourages me to stay on track so I can be a good example for her! She asks for a shake for breakfast almost every day. She knows that she is eating healthy and that means so much to me. She asks about the sugar and protein content in the foods that she eat, too…and she’s only 5 YEARS OLD!
Thank you for putting this together. I feel some much better than I did a month ago. I saw one of my clients at the store the other week and she didn’t recognize me…”You look like you’re in high school,”she said. And I am actually looking forward to taking my after pic…I haven’t been excited about being in a pic for about 10 years! I have this newfound confidence and it has rejuvenated my marriage! I plan to continue on with the Lady Boss program, and I would like to lose another 25-30 lbs. I have no doubt that it is possible with these amazing products, with a great support system and with the help of the Lord! Sorry for the “book” but this stuff is a life changer!
